Fatigue or vigour is a mechanic that affects units in battle.. Units tire as they move and fight, meaning that they cannot engage in combat as effectively. The vigour/fatigue level of a unit is shown on its tooltip. Troops recover vigour slowly over time if allowed to stand still. Walk units where possible and only charge them at the last moment to prevent them from tiring.
Cannons have an extremely long range but other artillery is more effective at short range so it’s best to mix up the war machines. Cannons are also fine for shooting elite armoured infantry too – that’s not a waste and they’ll do lot’s of damage that way. Don’t bother shooting characters with war machines unless they’re large targets.
Platoon fire is a way of dividing a unit into smaller groups that each fire, reload and fire again in turn. The result is a “rippling fire” down a line formation and, as the last platoon fires its muskets, the first is ready to fire again. I have noticed that when you’re manually firing artillery in Warhammer especially, you dont have enough range to actually reach the end of the units normal firing range.. Is this implemented by choice or is it a flaw? And if its just something they’ve looked past and not fixed, i really hope its fixed in Warhammer 2
